So some how I managed to sew this ruffled apron between Rachel's crying and feeding spells, I really like it, but the pattern I used ( http://morganmoore.typepad.com/one_more_moore/2007/02/valentine_tree__1.html ) was for a smaller person I think because it's not that wide and the ruffles make me look pretty wide, so it looks like it gets to go to the church wedding shower basket... good thing home made is in!
So I forgot to mention that I picked up 2 meters of pink tulle at fabric land the other day too, I cut it into pieces 4 inches x 20 inches, gathered the stripes in groups of 3, knotted them onto a piece of elastic and vwala, a tutu for Rachel was born. It fits Owen too, it's pretty big on Rachel but I think she's more interested in eating it than anything else at the moment, I think I'll add it to the collection of play clothes
This is the material I picked up at fabric land, posting a picture for you Gwen, and the description is as follows: the 5 on the left will be a ruffled apron, the white & blue will be scrubs and a chef hat and jacket for Owen, the right will be an apron for my aunt and the bottom one is undecided but I just really liked it... any suggestions? Completed project pictures to follow...eventually

This morning I dug through Rachel's clothes to find some new things for her to wear, the little jean dress from Oma, and the shirt underneath from her cousin Bethani. She needed to have slippers too, because it was -14 today and we were going to the curling rink to watch 'Daddy' play, so some how I managed to make the little brown slippers she's wearing in the 15 minute 'ready get set go' time before we left. They were a quick job, but lined with fleece they did the job. Unfortunately because I was so busy with making these, I assumed the bulging diaper bag had diapers, and had a rude awakening when Rachel exploded at the curling rink. Needless to say we went home early... never assume :)
Last night after putting Owen to bed, I dug through some bags of remnant material and pieced together this little number. I gave it to a little girl from church for her birthday. I'll probably make one for Rachel eventually and my Aunt Marlene wants one too :)
